DESCRIPTION: Letters and telegrams pertaining to Brett's appointment and subsequent conferral of the Order of the Crown of Siam. Francis Sayre, a Professor at Harvard Law School and son-in-law of Pres. Wilson, was commissioned to effect the appointment. Commendation and support for Brett was provided by C.F. Weed, a Vice President at the First National Bank of Boston and leader for a local unemployment relief fundraising campaign, and by Stuart J. Fuller, a U.S. State Department consular official for the Far East. Phya Subarn Sompati, Minister of the Siamese Legation to the U.S., officially welcomed Brett to his new position, and later initiated his conferral honor. Letters from W.
